Match Fees
Members: $5.00 per match. Non-Members: $15.00 per match. First-time
Guests: $5.00 for the match. The "Guest" rate
applies exclusively to first-time, new shooters who have not
shot an IDPA match anywhere. The intent is to allow interested
people an opportunity to try this sport.
Matches: The second Sunday of the month
shall be match day. The exception might be Mother's Day in May, or
any other conflicting holiday. Members will be provided with a current
match schedule prior to each season.
Match Season: March through October each year.
No Winter Matches.
Classifier Matches: Two (2) per season,
as follows: First match in March. Last match in October. Classifier
Matches shall not be scored as a "Trophy
Match" under our award program and no award points
shall be issued. One "re-shoot" is allowed, after all
other shooters have finished. As per club decisions on 10-24-01
and 11-12-02.
Late Arrivals and Early Departures: When
shooting and scoring is finished on Stage One, late arrivals
will not be allowed to hold up the entire match to shoot Stage
One. The shooter may shoot any remaining stages, after payment
of fees, with an incomplete score for the match. We are not going
to allow chronic late arrivals to slow up everyone else's match.
The Match Director shall have discretion in allowing late shooters
to start at Stage One if there are mitigating circumstances.
This shall be on a case-by-case basis. As per club decision
on 10-24-01. Persons who travel home to areas outside of
Mendocino County will be allowed to shoot the last Stage of the
match first and depart. No other accommodations will be made.
MATCH CONSTRUCTION
New Policy 11-12-02
All persons wishing to participate in club matches
shall be required to arrive
at the shooting area no later than
0900 hours (9 AM) ready to work.
Construction Assignments: Are
made by Club Officers to unload the club trailer and complete construction
of the Stages of Fire. When the work is done, we will have a match.
You are expected to help! Any matches that are construction intensive
will probably have to be set up on a Saturday afternoon. The Match
Director shall notify all members, so we have enough people to
help. Please understand that ten percent doing 90 percent of the
work means you will not have a club.
Meetings: The end of the season awards dinner
shall be the time to elect new Officers and conduct new business.
Members will be notified of this date. Meetings are open only to
members. The President may call a general meeting of the membership
at other times when issues emerge during the calendar year, and
a vote of the members is appropriate.
Newsletters and Match Scores: All members shall
receive a match score sheet and a club newsletter for each match,
whether attended or not. Other shooters will only receive scores & newsletter
for the matches they participate in. Those who want the above sent
via email, must notify Peter Matlin, President. U.S. Postal Mail
will be used for all others.
New Shooters New Policy 10-24-01: All new shooters shall
contact the Chief Safety Officer (C.S.O.), well in advance of any
match participation, for a demonstration of skills concerning the
safe drawing & handling of handguns. If the C.S.O. feels
the new shooter needs to attend the Safety Class offered by the
club, the new shooter shall complete the Safety Class prior to
shooting with this club. Those shooters who have experience in
other shooting disciplines, or law enforcement, may be allowed
to compete if the C.S.O. feels the safety and handling skills
are sufficient. This decision is the exclusive authority of the
Chief Safety Officer. This requirement does not apply to current
IDPA members from other locations. Please
do not invite your friends or family members to shoot a match until
they comply with this policy. They will not be allowed to shoot.
Officers of the Club
All officers shall be members of the
Redwood Practical Shooters and have a desire to administer club
functions. Any member may be nominated by the membership at large.
There is a President and Directors. Each Officer shall be assigned
duties & responsibilities
he/she is to carry out, under the supervision of the President.
Directors will call on the general membership whenever club work
needs to be accomplished. Please support them in getting the
job done. Members are encouraged to get involved as a Club Officer.
Leadership should change frequently to keep new ideas and people
on board. Don't expect the same people to step up every year
to do the work: this also leads to burn out and the end of your
club.

the meeting place may request an absentee ballot from the President,
in advance of the annual meeting. The absentee ballot shall be
marked, signed and returned to the President prior to the date
